I thought about giving up on my first boat up to the day I launched it! It really came out very nice. Each time I ran into trouble I would work through the problem in some way. I thought of the boat as an experiment to see what would work fully intending to use this one as practice and build a good one next time. I really like my first boat. It is five years old now and still going strong.

You may want to try using a heat gun to warm the dry strips as you bend them. I have found the lighter colored red cedar strips bend better.
