I know _exactly_ what you mean, on all accounts. One pleasant aspect was that the sweetness of each new surprise was better than the last, and when the boat was ready to be paddled, not actually finished yet, it was the best of all. God, I can hardly wait to get it outfitted and finished.
'So, hon, whaddya think?' hehe... I wonder if that "question" bears any semantic relevance to 'So, hon, does this make me look fat?'? Neither one seems to ever get a conclusive, satisfactory answer.....
