Yes, he cut standard strips from the foam board. He even put the bead and cove on the strips. The foam is more flexible than a cedar strip, but appears to work easier. (consistant texture) He sanded the foam but also used a fairing compound to smooth it all out. Because the foam is more flexible it sagged more than cdar would have, this required more fairing.

I think the paint is leftover from towfish (unmanned towed submarines) that he has built.

I'll see if I can get Jim to post all of the particulars.
