Shawn:
When I first bought my copy of "canoecraft" (Nick's book wasn't already "launched"), I had a little problem with Amazon that ended getting two copies of the same book.
The issue is that I gave the second copy to a friend of mine, who built a canoe just like Ted Moore said with a little exception... NO GLASS!!!
I told my friend that just gluing with epoxy glue the strips and installing little ribs to the boat wouldn't be enough, because of the "sandwich" theory of Glass-wood-glass.
Guess what? The canoe works perfectly. Actually, he has built two more canoes using the same method and take the boats every single weekend for a ride, fully geared.
I've glassed my Guillemot's hull with 10 oz cloth. I wonder if I am not building a sea Panzer...
