I tried CA glue and found it would not set up on the redwood or the mahogany strips. I'm not sure but I felt it must have something to do with the type of wood. I tried several different types such has the "gap filling" and 'fast cure' versions all with similar results. What happens is it just doesnt dry. It wicks ok and then just sits there. I was at a loss so I bought an electric stapler and a case of staples and never looked back !
