Spidey,
If you can get 2x use it, just cut it in half to get managable pieces, ie, cut a 2x4 to 2 2x2's. Then rip the strips, after cutting them, tape the bundle togeather and cut in half to get 3/4" strips.
Using a thin kerf (1/16) blade, I got 24 strips per 2x4, took 3 2x4's to do the boat.
