I think the others have answered your questions sufficiently... just show the wife how much cheaper it is than a good production boat.

Consider yourself warned, however, that cedar dust is more addictive than cocaine (but I'm not addicted, I can stop any time I want). DON'T tell your wife about the potential addiction. Enjoy...
