Steve,

I am just finishing up my 2ed Winisk, I used the flat strips on both.

There are no gaps or nail/staple holes on the outside of the hulls.

I did get a little careless and have some gaps (1/32+ max) on the inside in the chine area, be carefull in the chine areas. I just let the epoxy fill them during the seal coat.

To help aline the strips between forms, I used spring clamps.

Here in MN, I think most strippers are built with flat strips.

For the stapleless method I used check out the pics on Martins site.
