Paul,

I've used these clamps before, they are great spring clamps, far better than the more expensive metal ones. The rubber tips of the metal ones slide around or get sliced from the metal. I agree with you on buying (the usually more expensive) quality tools, but these clamps have served me well for 3 kayaks. I now have about 3 dozen of them.
