Hi Spidey I have built Three wood strip craft using this method, 2 canoes and a kayak . And yes the shellac works great with just enough holding power to keep things in place until you want to remove the craft from the mold. which just takes a sharp rap to release the hot glue from the station molds leaving the glue to be removed from the interior surface . Which takes some extra time but I think its worth it . I will say that there are alot of different formulations of hot glue and I have tried quite a few but I am limited in my selection .I prefer a faster setting high temperature glue , it just seems to hold the more difficult strips better as the low temperature sticks tend to be a little bit soft at room temerature and will let the strips shift if you don,t keep your work area fairly cool.

well good luck Bill
