The Kevlar (and the dacron)is held to the frame with a hot melt glue that is sold in sheet form in fabric stores. Shrinking the fabric compresses the frame, leaving the Kevlar loose. To allow for adjustment, you leave extra Kevlar hanging from the gunnnels. When you need to tighten, you grab these "tails", touch an iron to the point the kevlar crosses the gunnel, and pull. It all works amazingly well. I got a boat that is cosmetically nicer than my Stich-and-glue.
