Hi Jack, Yep the systems are very similar. I however am using steel S rings looped through the webbing and I only have one line that runs through all four blocks and then to a standard deck cleat to tie it off. I'm not sure I would bother to try bubble leak testing on the hull unless you see a crack that appears to penetrante into the wood. I think I would do a good visual inspection. If you see something your not sure of try looking under magnification. I wouldn't sacrifice anything but the damaged area especially something on the deck where it will show if you have to make repairs.
