I actually tried to make a waterski back in my "youth" and used this method to make the bottom of the ski concave. I clamped a fence perpendicular to the saw, and ran the ski blank by it and raised the sawblade in 1/16 increments until the area was hollowed.

I don't think it would be that difficult (or unsafe) to do on the tablesaw.
