Paul,

I picked up a 1'x2' piece of 3" minicell. I cut it up and glued it to the desired size(a little longer than the thermarest seat).

The seat is about 5/8" thick in the bottom. This is lower than a fully inflated thermarest, but higher than one that has less pressure in it. I could carve it out more, but I want as much padding as possible in that huge cockpit. The first few times I paddled with it, it seemed a little bit high, but now it is fine.

Joe Greenley posted that picture a while back. I right clicked on it to get the properties and used the address from that. I have not seen the image on his regular website. I am hoping he doesn't mind me using it. Whenever I use an image from his site, I am hoping that it promotes his kayaks, they are incredible.
