I may install a retractable skeg in the Guillemot I'm building right now, but I'll leave that decision until after I've paddled it. I can see how valuable they could be, but I'm still reluctant to give up my precious cargo space!

I've got decent paddling technique, so I don't need one for anything but the rougher conditions. However, it is very tiring doing corrective strokes for 3 or 4 miles.
