Hi Jason, The hull is all red cedar The deck is white pine and redwood.

The pine is slightly heavier than the cedar or redwood, but I couldn't find any spruce locally that was clear or 1" thick. It should only add a pound or two to the weight of the finished boat. It sure is nice to work with, though!
