I have made light, thin blades by cedar stripping a blade, then planing it in the thickness planer to 1/8. Next glass both side with 1 or 2 layers of cloth and epoxy resin sandwitched between thin plexiglass and clamp well. be sure to remove all the air bubbles. If you want a curved blade just clamp it together in a curved form. The result is a smooth prefinished light and strong blade that can be made to match any detial strid in your boat.
