For the Wilderness Systems boat, I'd agree. It would be too easy to take a wave over the bow or side and flood the open cockpit. Hopefully, though, you'll outgrow this boat, build yourself a nice, narrow wood (preferably) sea kayak and be itchin' to go out to Lake Michigan when you hear the words "small craft advisory" from that canned voice in the weather radio...;-)
