Hi Mike;
I'll be doing the same thing for the 1st time on Saturday, so I've been looking into feathering layers of glass. I received a new "how-to" book yesterday (Ocean Kayak by Stejskat) and he recommendends feathering with a scraper instead of sanding (don't fuzz that glass) - but instead of a standard cabinet scraper that cuts with a burr, it looks like he's using a "bladed" scraper. Sounds like a workable plan. I have in the past looked at the scrapers at my local Ace Hardware, and they have a whole rack of different shapes and sizes, pull & push, convex and flat, many using replaceable blades.
Of course, if you're like me and a number of the other posters here, you'll probably sharpen the new razor-like scraper before you ever use it, and wonder what they offer replacement blades for . . . 8-)
Good luck, Spidey
