I'm building an 18' stripper without coved-and-beaded strips of white cedar ranging from 8' to 14'. Red cedar, redwood, pine, etc., can all be found in longer lengths, but 20' white cedar is almost impossible to come by. Many power utilities have used-but-dry-and-clear red cedar telephone poles that are free for the hauling but you have to arrange to get it cut. If you get one, make sure it's one that hasn't been treated with creosote. I hand-beveled my strips (building in an apartment living room has its disadvantages...) and it went slower, but still went very well. The hand-beveling is quicker than you might expect, but if you have the capability, I'd go the cove-n-bead route.
