Thanks for the comments Paul,
I have a few "nice" knots in my spruce strips that I will be using on my Guillemot. Adds a bit of character to the wood. I was a bit concerned on how they would fare and fair.
Belt sander Huh? - sounds aggressive. Would do a fast job of fairing! Could make "portholes" as well ;-) What grit were you using?
