I am going to Defender tomorrow AM (they're having a huge sale), and talking to their fiberglass "expert" (if they have one), and then apply glass on my S&G tomorrow night or Sunday afternoon.

If I receive any great revelations at Defender, I will gladly post them here. For now I am not planning on precoating my hull. Being a paranoid neophyte, I believe that I overepoxied the inside of my hull. I am at 25 lbs. now with no coaming, seat or bulkheads. Once I get the coaming and seat on, and glass and varnish the hull, I suspect I will be closer to 50 lbs. than 40.

Bottom line, I vote for NO precoat. Of course, this is my first boat and first fiberglass experience, so how much weight can I lend?
