I've got the procedings from a comosites symposium that has an article about using scraps of carbon prepreg to manufacture carbon sheet, as an industrial economy measure. Apparently now the challenge is to dispose of this waste; If you were in the right place the stuff might be had for the asking, in pieces big enough for ferrules.
