Using another builder's suggestion, brads were partially hammered into the edge of the sheer every few feet 1/4" from the edge ( do the NB plans call for leaving the sheer 1/4" proud?). Then I used spring clamps and forced the sheer against the side panel to make the sheer conform to the curve on the side panel. You might consider using a few of the bronze ring nails, strategically placed, if you are concerned that the sheer might "spring back".
