no seriously though when i build hammocks i sometimes dye the rope i use. you have to boil the pants to remove the seizing (the stuff that holds the stuff together after boiling the "seizing" skim the residue from the pot and remove the pants from water let cool then your rit dye should work fine. -johnnie
