That's what I did, actually! I've stripped one side (remember I can work only on weekends) and next weekend I stripped the other one. The anxiety of seeing the whole thing done (at least from one side) drove me to do that...

A "flexible" strongback, plus an "asymetric" stripping must have been the cause of my bananic kayak.
