I didn't want to download the CAD program and the plan -- I just looked at your cross-section. I don't see why you couldn't use a shear clamp, just bevel it to match the deck. The cross-section looks like a CLC-type deck, and they use beveled shear clamps. And the picture I was referring to was the one of the lovely lady at the bottom...
