Travis - I did mine similar to Ross's, drawing and trying it on poster board until I got a shape I liked. I cut mortises in the inwales before I glued them in, and cut matching tenons on the thwart stock before cutting out the shape on the bandsaw. It was carved with a spokeshave, block plane, rasp, and sander. Took all of 20 minutes to carve (ash). Photo below. - John
