Hey Pete,

Check out St.Lawrence National Park. This is a Canadian national park that runs throughout the 1000 Islands.

My wife and I spent a weekend kayaking/camping on these islands. It is a beautiful place, great camping and reasonable costs. I would suggest phone the park and ask for an information package, make sure they know you want to go kayaking.
