The BWCA is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in the arrow head of Minnesota bordering Canada. It is a designated wilderness meaning no machines of any type (I think). Motors under 25 horse are allowed on the bigger lakes and people portage their small aluminium boats with portage wheels similiar to a kayak cart to and from those lakes. As to why "kayak carts" are banned (I don't know the exact reason)I think it has to do with the idea that wheels are a machine or that the carts may degrade the trails faster or that the law has always said it and why should they change now mentality. The BWCA can cause as heated discussion as the Govenor of MN and should be lumped into the things you shouldn't talk about with your friend (politics religion and the B Dub.) Trav
