This last weekend I've been trying to glue the vertical strips needed to form the coaming lip. As I've got no electricity in my workshop I wasn't able to use hot melt glue, like Nick advises. So I couldn't glue the strips in place (because the gravity forces the strips to slip down!).

I am considering build the coaming lip "body" just like the lip itself, that is, using a bent laminated collar that I can fit in place easier.

And, indeed, I've got another question: Is the coaming lip height the same all around the cockpit? Maybe, the sawn coaming lip should define a flat plane in the space, and because the recess has a curvature, we should reconsider giving the whole coaming lip the same height.

I ask this because when the coaming lip is sawn, we'll have to follow the contour of it with thin and long strips, to build the lip itself. I don't know how cooperative these strips will be, if we have to copy not only the "plan view" but the "elevation view". In other words, not only following the curve of the cockpit but the elevation of the recess!
