Ross is right. Learn HTML and fiddle with that. I tried using a WYSIWYG editor when I first wanted to write a web page and could never quite get things the way I wanted them. Not only that, but the HTML generated by it was a nightmare. You'll understand what's going on better if you learn how to write raw HTML. A good, simple, easy to use HTML editor for windows I've used is CuteHTML. It's has a library of HTML tags that really helps when you're starting out.It used to be free, but I'm not so sure anymore. To preview your pages, just point your browser to your HTML file by entering 'file:' followed by the path of the file as the URL.

: Last September was my first trip to the Rendezvous, and barring any schedule
: conflicts, I'll be back this year. You're right, it's pure, concentrated
: inspiration. You cannot fight it. Hope to see you there.

: Regarding a website, I've been using MS Frontpage for authoring, and it's
: okay. If you use it, you'll need to make sure your ISP supports Frontpage
: Server Extensions. If you want to start simple, learn HTML, and start a
: page by hand (it's not a bad idea to understand the HTML generated by any
: WYSIWYG tool), you could find a site you like, copy the source, and start
: playing around changing it. If you can get your hands on MS Personal Web
: Server, you can develop your pages on your own computer before moving them
: to your ISP's server. Feel free to email me offline if you'd like more
: info.
