If you sanded down into the cloth, you would be seeing the weave. It shows up as a white cross-hatch on the slightly darker sanded epoxy. In trying to sand out some small irregularities, I sanded down to the cloth in a few places. As soon as I started seeing the weave I stopped. If you don't see any weave, it's my guess that you used a heck of a lot of fill coats of epoxy! After thinking I didn't put enough fill epoxy on the hull, I laid it on heavier on the deck. The places I started seeing the weave was on the thinner-coated hull, not on the deck.

Sounds like you're doing fine -- don't sweat it.
