: Hi everyone,

: I'm in the final stages of finishing a Freedom 17' canoe. I used Interlux
: marine varnish on the exterior which is looking very nice, but I'm running
: out of the stuff and I have yet to start varnishing the inside. I have an
: old can of Behr spar varnish with UV inhibitors that I used on some
: paddles 3-1/2 years ago. The can has sat in my garage for 3 Minnesota
: winters, through several freeze/thaw cycles. It's still liquid, but it
: looks a little darker than I remember.

: Does this stuff go bad, or can I still use it? Maybe I'm being cheap, but I
: hate to spring for another can of the interlux if I don't need to.

: Thanks, Steve

Steve... The Scotsman is cheap, but there's a limit. Celebrate your craftsman- ship and hard work with a new can of matching varnish. Economize on the launch champagne. Continue to use the Behr on paddles after a test application. (things will normally look darker, along with a loss of memory, as you get older.)(if I remember correctly...) Congrats and TNX, Scotty
