I assume that like my Tern, the end-pour is being done before the deck is mounted. The end-pour does add a bit of strength, but if your bow fillet is farily good-sized, it should be enough. Just try to avoid ramming dock pilings, and you'll be O.K. If you want to put a grab loop on the bow, how about just cutting a small beveled block of some softwood and wedge/epoxy it in place. Then drill your toggle hole thru it.

: I am getting ready to do the end pours on my Coho. After spending alot of
: time trying to keep the weight down on my boat, the idea of pouring
: several ounces of resin in the bow and stern doesn't seem very efficient.
: Has anyone tried to lighten the end pours with microballoons, glass fiber,
: or another additive? Any comments, or am I getting obsessive?
: I may be overly sensitive to the hull weight issue, but my experience in
: boating is that the easier the boat is to car-top and launch the more it
: will get used.
