Tom,
I used an internal keelson that I beveled as it got close to the internal stems. I epoxied the plywood to the keelson and held it in place with staples while the epoxy cured. I ran a bead of thickened epoxy down the keel line and rounded it over before glassing. After the glass cloth, I ran a strip of 6 oz. glass tape down the keel line.

: Thanks, guys. Hey Mike, On your plywood Walrus, did you use a keel? Any
: details would be helpful. What I'm running into is that as the plywood
: twists from nearly vertical to nearly flat, the surface to which a keel
: would attach narrows so that forming a keel would be a real test of
: woodworking skills--I'd rather get on the water sooner instead of spending
: all spring and summer building the damn boat. My thought is that with FG
: tape over the bottom joint that a keel is unnecessary as a protective
: measure and I'm guessing that the basic design will track well enough
: without one. Thanks, Tom
