: I just finished wiring the hull of my Pygmy Osprey. I wired the keel with
: pliers, as suggested in the directions. Then, a friend told me to go to an
: airplane supply store and buy a pair of SAFETY WIRE PLIERS, which I did.
: These are basically locking pliers with a contraption on the end. Once you
: lock the pliers on the ends of a piece of wire, you pull the contraption,
: the pliers spin and in about 1 second your wire is tight. I'm guessing I
: cut the time I spent twisting wires by several hours. It was 25 very well
: spent dollars! Hi Brion, Well I agree with you 100%. I used my safety wire pliers on 99% of the ties on my COHO. Once you get the knack for the right amount of tension for the twisted wire , it makes consistent ties. Mine came from courtesy of the U.S. Navy, Thanks again....Wayne G.
