I adapted Ted Moores' technique from "KayakCraft" for my last two boats. Instead of laying a single piece of cloth the whole length of the inside of the hull, cut it about 1' short of either end. Epoxy that, and then later, or even the next day, lay in short pieces in the bow and stern with about 2 or 3" overlap. Lots less mess and fuss, but it should be as strong. Ted M. doesn't even glass the two ends, if I recall correctly.
