i did two coamings on my guillenont double wth strips of ash and they came out great. Heres what i did: I cut seven 1/2 inch wide by 3/32 inch thick strips from an eight foot board of ash. I then glued one strip around the coaming using regular carpenters glue and used spring clamps as I went around. When I got to the overlap, I beveled the beginning strip so as not to have a gap and to have a smooth transition. Apply glue with a small brush about six inches at a time, then clamp, then glue another six inches, clamp, etc. Butt the next strip to the first one and continue around, removing clamps as you go and clamping the new strip. Since I was going to glass the lip anyway, I didn't think it was necessary to use epoxy for this lamination. When I got finished, I shaped it then impregnated with epoxy, then ultimately glassed around it. Both came out great. GOOD LUCK>
