:I relate this mini-disaster because of all the work required to remove it: Essentially the entire coat has to be sanded off to get back to a level, ready for recoat surface. I hope this post saves someone from the extra work. My deck is back after 3+ hours sanding, and if there is an upside, it has never been quite this smooth . . . ;-)

You state that after 3+ hours sanding your deck has never been quite this smooth. So my question for you is. After you sand it down is the glass weave showing at all? If not why add another fill coat, you are just adding weight.

If you have the weave showing or a dimple after sanding in a small area just give that area a fill coat with a squeegee or a brush and feather it in after it sets up with a cabinet scraper.

Once it is sanded smooth just varnish it, to give the epoxy some protection from UV and abrasion.
