Pete -- On my Merganser, I glued the vertical strips on, glassed the outside of the coaming (3 layers), cleaned up the inside, and glassed the inside (again, 3 layers); all before putting the deck on. I then glassed the deck, with overlap on to the coaming glass. -- Greg

: PS. The coaming that I'm using is made from 0.25" by 2" by
: 0.75" birch and purpleheart pieces with hopefully steambent
: laminations of the same in 1/8" thickness strips for the coaming rim.
