: My coaming lip is 12 laminations of 1/16" x 1/4" maple and

Don't forget that ripping 1/8" strips in a small thickness like 1/4" or so make for some fragile strips. I managed to have one get sucked in and spit back out at me. Plus I was the helper and had somebody running the feed side of the table saw. Also, bowed birch is tough to rip evenly as well - yes, I learned this.
