Thanks for the response - I guess I'm still thinking about putting a sealer coat of epoxy on the underside of the deck, since I'm going to install the hatch kit and anticipate that sooner or later, some of the gear that I'll stow in the fore/aft compartments will be wet.
I assume that a sealer coat of epoxy adds some strength and structural rigidity? Or will it just add weight?
Hope your Coho is turning out nicely! I know I can't wait to get mine in the water - since I already sold my original 'yak, I've only been on the water once this year. Although I really like the design/performance features of the Coho, it's a tradeoff - do I want to spend my time building a 'yak, or being out on the water in one!
