Glen, I am in the process of completing (I put what I hope to be the last coat of varnish on tonight) a 15 foot, 24 inch kayak I designed on the Hulls program. My design waterline with 250 pounds of paddler and kayak was 3.5 inches. It is 12 inches high at the bow and 11 inches at the stern. I was reasonably satisfied with the results. I experienced a few problems with the design. (experienced a lot of problems during construction, but they were not the fault of the design) 1. The software switches between digital inches (tenths) and eights when you print the offset table. This got me confused and I screwed up the panel cuts. I ended up having to bridge the resulting gaps of 1/2 inch with double layers of glass. 2. The software allowed me to create a shape in the bow that the panels were not able to adopt. I was able to force the panels into something close to the design, but I ended up with several spots that are not as fair as I wanted.

All in all, I have decided that there is a lot to be said for purchasing a plan, with full size printouts, that has been successfully built by others. Steve
