: Lucky! My wife puts up with the tools et al, grudgingly. I get a new tool,
: she gets a new pair of shoes. Usually that's a pretty good deal. I'm open
: to suggestions of tactics to get her out in the boat more often...
: Shanghai?

Shoes?! You too??!? At least she could buy neoprene paddling shoes or something cool, but noooo. ;)

My wife said, "Why did you buy so much fiberglass and epoxy"

Sez me: "So I can build another boat."

"Oh," She says, "You're going to build me a boat after you finish remodeling the kitchen and basement?"

She's a lovely woman with good priorities, but the order of those priorities is not exactly of my choosing! Luckily, I've talked her into a multi-day trip after the W. Coast Rendezvous. I don't know how it happened, so I don't know what advice I can offer you--in the past, she's been adamantly anti-kayak, but I told her that we'd see Orcas, eat lots of seafood on the trip, and stay in a B&B at the end of the trip.

Shanghai? Interesting thought. Stereotypically, guys take ladies out and get them drunk so they can "make a move" on them. I guess our definition of making a move is different than others!
