In Response To: juniperus virginius (Richard Conradt)

: In Nebraska we have an abundance of juniperus virginius. The locals call it
: cedar and consider it a weed. It grows to +30' with a 20" diameter.
: It is very aromatic and has apurple hue when planed. Does anyone have any
: comments on using this wood for a strip kayak. Thanks.

Is it light? Is it rot resistance? How does it bend? Purple looks great! Imagine a pupple boat and it is all nature!
