My wife (Tammy) is allergic to Western Red Cedar. Her sinuses have serious problems if she spends time around the dust from it. I have to shower after I mill or sand the stuff before I can spend time with my wife. I cannot just dust myself off before I come upstairs. That wood is full of toxins, that is why bugs, mildew, and rot don't like it.

I think Jerry up here in Tacoma also has skin reations when working with it.

: I have not yet heard anyone allergic to cedar, but it does not mean that it
: is not possible. Part of the reason may be as a cabinet builder, I work
: mainly with hard wood. Well, sounds like time to buy the tyvek suit now.
: Good luck. Hope you do not have to stop building because you alway do
: great work. I wish I can do the same.
