I have a cast iron craftsman from the 60's or 70's and it's done everything I ask of it. It's definitely not a Unisaw, but it only cost $75. I used it as a platform to add a good aftermarket fence, a Forrest blade and a few other jigs and attachments. I've had a lot of fun with it. The Craftsman fences are not very good. Even if you are buuing a brand new one, I would reccommend a new fence. Fine Woodworking magazine has adds for some very good ones. If you have access to Fine Woodworking back issues, there was a very good article about 10 years ago that compared the various fences available then. Also, about the same time (maybe the same issue) there was a good article on building a fence. Unless you are planning to spend big bucks, most of the saws on the market today should be considered kits that need upgrading. There are also several books available on tuning up a table saw. One that I can recommend is by Mark Duginski. Mark's books are very good. Good luck, work safe.
