Hi Rick;
I'll have you know that I outfitted my 'yak with a small 100hp gas turbine and did THAT course in 4.3 seconds - Whoever that Spivey guy is, he must have poor upper body development and/or no motor.
On the subject of gas turbine powered boats, the link below will show a few homemade efforts (not mine). Check out the Squirt 1 video download only if you want to see a 1/4 mile long rooster tail on a jet-jet boat . . . ;-) Also, be sure to turn up the volume on your sound system . . .
