The small scratches virtually disappear and the deep ones are still be able to felt. I have to say that it does fill pretty well. I had one deep one that I did with a brush before I decided to try the rag and wished I hadn't, it shows! I think it's a great way to dress up the bottom through the season and then you can do the sand and recoat when the water is hard.
